Along the way they’ll search for signs of nature, discover tiny hidden details, and imagine the magical creatures that might live among the trees.

During their adventure they will:

  • 🍃 Find and draw different types of leaves

  • 🌳 Measure giant trees with their footsteps

  • 🐞 Search for ladybirds and woodland insects

  • 🪹 Spot birds’ nests high in the branches

  • 🍄 Look for fairy rings and mysterious forest signs

  • 🌲 Count pinecones and explore fallen logs

Children also record their discoveries in their Explorer’s Log, drawing what they found and describing the most magical moment of their adventure.

The activity encourages:

  • Curiosity and imagination

  • Observation and nature awareness

  • Outdoor play and creativity

  • Slowing down and noticing the small wonders of the forest

Parents love it because it:

  • Turns a normal walk into a nature treasure hunt

  • Encourages kids to explore independently

  • Works in any forest, park, or woodland trail

  • Requires no prep — just print and go

Print it before your next woodland walk and let your child lead the adventure.
